Four of the best Border markets are all back this weekend with two markets each day on either side of the river. The weather is only expected to be in the high 20s so it is the perfect opportunity to get out and support some local stallholders.
NEW FACILITIES
Lavington Sports Ground open day, Saturday, January 16, from 10am
The community is invited to celebrate the opening of the redeveloped Lavington Sports Ground when the new facility holds an open day on Saturday. Locals are invited to bring a footy for a kick on the oval, or a bat and ball for a hit in the new nets. Tours of the new venue will be held at 10am, 11am and 12pm. Bookings are essential through the council website. COVID regulations will be in place to ensure visitors can enjoy the open day activities and tours in safety. More tours will be held on Wednesday for those who can't make the weekend open day.
FUN IN THE SUN
Beginner paddle board class, Bowna Reserve, Saturday, January 16, 10am
Join local business Paddle Tribe and their experienced instructors for a fun morning learning to paddle board at the weir. Cost is $55 per person for the hour lesson. ROCK N ROLL BABY
Goliath at The Newmarket Hotel, Albury, Sunday, January 17, 3pm
Albury-Wodonga Rock n Roll cover band Goliath have almost sold out The Newmarket Hotel for their Sunday afternoon gig. Due to COVID regulations the hotel has now booked out the outside deck with only tables inside available. This is a free event but for over 18s only.
OUTDOOR FUN
Wolki Farm tour, Thurgoona, Sunday, January 17, 7am
Bring the kids along for a free tour of a family run regenerative farm in Thurgoona. The Wolki family runs a mixed enterprise farm with cows, pigs, chickens, dogs, bees, a veggie patch and orchards.
