Taylor arrived in Wodonga last Thursday from the Sunshine Coast and has finally met the majority of his list after two training sessions this week.

"Face-to-face it was the first time I've met 95 per cent of the list," Taylor said.

"It was really good to meet them and put names to faces.

"The club's been really welcoming and have helped me out.

"I had eight of my teammates help me move in the first day."

The 26-year-old first-time senior coach admitted there's a buzz around the club, which hasn't had a finals appearance since 2009 - the league's longest drought.

The Bulldogs are still waiting for new inclusions Josh Clayton, Cody Szust, Zac Brain and Sam Jewell to land at John Flower Oval.

Szust is set to relocate to the Border on Friday, while Brain and Jewell are currently playing in the Northern Territory.

Taylor said he's looking forward to working with the young group, with the average age of players around 20-years-old.

"The locals we have here are quite young, so they've got that sense of enthusiasm and excitement in general," he said.

"I haven't seen the league since I was 17 or 18, so I don't know what to expect.

"I feel like with the inclusions we've got, we'll definitely be competitive and then the results can hopefully take care of themselves after that and we can continue to build over the next couple of years."

Originally from Finley, Taylor has relocated to Wodonga with his wife Alyssa.

He admitted their new home will be quite different to Queensland.

"My wife has spent most of her life in warmer conditions, so I think winter will be the adjustment," he said.
