After an undefeated run through the pool phase, the Riverina under-16s suffered a gut-wrenching four-wicket loss to Western in the final of the T20 tournament on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, Riverina's worst batting effort came in the decider as they were dismissed for just 76, and, despite having Western 2-4, were unable to defend the total.
Corowa's Rosie Blain led the side during the week, while Albury's Olivia Sanson and Sara Burns impressed.
Riverina's under-19s finished the tournament in third place but were left to rue a missed opportunity to win their last pool game and reach the final on Thursday.
Champions ACT-Southern Districts were in trouble in pursuit of Riverina's 8-87, but were helped along by 29 extras, 27 of which were wides, to get over the line with three balls to spare.
Riverina defeated Western in the playoff for third.
Corowa's Gabby Sutcliffe captained the side and finished with six wickets across the four matches, while Howlong's Ebony Hoskin opened the bowling and piled on the pressure with her accuracy.
Coach Catherine Wood was proud of both side's efforts but knows they could have come away with more.
"The under-16s were devastated. The feeling in the rooms after the game, they wanted it so bad and were agonisingly close," she said.
"The under-19 girls were disappointed and they know they can perform a lot better than that."
