A Chiltern man accused of driving at police at the Bandiana Link checkpoint in a stolen car will return to court next week.

Police arrested Alex Gavranic, 38, on Thursday following the alleged incident on January 17.
It's alleged he drove a stolen blue Mercedes Benz at police at the checkpoint about 11pm before speeding through the area.
Detectives established that the 38-year-old had travelled to Melbourne.
He was arrested at Moonee Ponds and was charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, evading police, bringing stolen goods into Victoria and driving a stolen car.

He is also accused of driving unlicensed, speeding, and breaching COVID-19 health orders.
Gavranic faced court in Melbourne and was refused bail.
He has other matters pending before the magistrates court after being charged by officers in Flemington and Broadmeadows with various offences.
