Organisers have responded to some concerns from members of the community by saying they will ensure the April event will be COVID-safe. General manager Jenny Boardman said the board has announced the measures it will be undertaking to ensure the safety of everybody.
"The welfare of our community and our festival patrons is paramount," she said.
"Our COVID event safe plan has been reviewed and approved by Corryong Health and we will keep in contact with them as well as other authorities in the lead up to the festival. It's always a huge job and it has just got bigger."
Screening marquees will be set up with all attendees required to undergo screening before they enter the festival area.
All festival-goers are recommended to wear masks.
"As required by COVID regulations or directions from DHHS, it will be recommended all attendees wear masks. This will be mandatory in crowded areas and at all times within indoor venues," Ms Boardman said.
"Staff and volunteers will also be asked to wear masks at all times when dealing with the public during the festival."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Other safety measures will include setting up one-way foot access to indoor venues, attendance numbers at individual venues will also be reduced and managed subject to regulations at the time.
"There have been many weeks of work creating this plan in order to provide a festival that is COVID safe for all concerned," Ms Boardman said.
"There is no doubt this community is going through a torrid time and it is feasible that events like the festival can be run safely and be a huge benefit to the community.
"The fact that the world must learn to live with COVID is tragic and our planning of producing a safe festival is only a small step forward in that story.
"We never have and never will run this event without community support. We need it now, more than ever.
"We urge the community to be mindful that this event is not for another 11 weeks. What the COVID reality looks like then may be very different to what it is today.
"If the festival were scheduled today, it would not take place.
"We trust this information will help provide some insight into our planning process."
