And while not everything inside their new Albury store is from local producers or businesses, that was an important focus for co-chief executives Tristan, Luke and Angus.

"We are new to town so it was one of the first things we did when we decided on this site in Albury - was go out and find local suppliers and concession store partners," Luke told The Border Mail.

"Now more than ever people want to support local businesses so that has been a real focus for us in our Albury store."

While a Bondi-boy at heart, Mr Harris said Albury was the "perfect spot" for their new store.

"I love the country, and while Albury-Wodonga is a mini city, it has that country town feel which I just love," he said.

"We saw there was a gap in the market here and we want people to enjoy themselves as well as get great, fresh, local produce at the same time.

"While you never know how a new store will go, and the first few days a lot of people will come in for a look, I am quietly confident the people of Albury-Wodonga and surrounds will come to really enjoy Harris Farm.

"We are just so glad to be finally opening after a few set backs."

Mr Harris said he has always had a love of markets around the world.

"From Sydney to Melbourne to Barcelona and London - when you are out exploring a local market is always a great place to see and that is what we are all about," he said.

"We are so much more a market than a supermarket."

The store is plastic bag free and encourages customers to bring their own bags or to use cardboard boxes from the store.
