Wodonga real estate identity Frances Clare Wernert, known widely as Fran, was farewelled on Tuesday by family, friends and colleagues at Wodonga's Sacred Heart Church before she was laid to rest at the Wodonga Cemetery.
The Wodonga Ray White principal died suddenly in her home on January 16 and while the religious ceremony was filled with sadness, it was a celebration nonetheless.
Father Junjun Amaya said the day was a celebration of Fran's 53-year life.
"Today is a gathering of sadness, especially to the family members of Fran, and to all her friends, colleagues and all that truly love her," he said.
"We are saying goodbye to this person who you were all inspired by.
"We are saying goodbye to this person who has been there for you all in many ways, who has been truly loved by the community.
"Even though this gathering is a sad gathering we still believe and we have this hope that death is not the end of everything.
"That there is life after death."
More than 100 mourners attended the service on Tuesday afternoon wearing bright colours as a celebration of Fran's life, as requested by the family.
The Ray White Wodonga team, which were referred to as Fran's second family by her husband Matt, all attended the funeral with the office closing for the day to pay their respects.
Due to coronavirus restrictions mourners were socially distanced in the church as well as outside on the lawns.
More than 150 also tuned in online to the livestream which was provided by funeral directors Conway Funeral Home.

"Thank you for being a great mentor, friend and someone I could confide in. You welcomed me into the Ray White family two-and-a-half years ago and made it feel like home," Jessica Schubert wrote.
Fran is survived by husband Matt and daughters Jorja and Haylie.
The Border Mail attended the funeral with permission from the Wernert family.
