Chiltern man Alexander Gavranic appeared via videolink in Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with the alleged incident on January 17.
The 38-year-old did not have legal representation and the matter was adjourned to February 18 to the same court.
There was no application for bail but Gavranic indicated there would be a future application.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Gavranic allegedly drove a stolen blue Mercedes Benz at police at the Bandiana Link checkpoint about 11pm on January 17 before speeding through the area.
Gavranic is also accused of driving unlicensed, speeding, and breaching COVID-19 health orders.
