While Ms Miller was able to save some of the couple's most treasured possessions, they lost almost everything as the fire rendered the house inhabitable.
Long-term friend Felicity O'Reilly has set up a GoFundMe for the couple to help "alleviate the pressure" of replacing all their clothing, furniture and everyday belongings while trying to find a new place to live.
"They've already got so much stress going on," Ms O'Reilly said.
"They have lost basically everything in their house."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms O'Reilly said the couple have had a difficult couple of years full of "waves of loss", with both Ms Miller and Mr Ball recently losing a parent and the couple losing their dog in recent months.
"And now they've had this on top of that," she said.
She said they had also recently been a great support for friends of theirs going through their own challenges.
"They have just jumped up and and helped people in their time of need," she said.
She said the couple were "inspirational" in their kindness to others.
"They're very loving people, they will accept everyone and anyone into their lives.
"They really inspire other people to be who they are without any restraint, to just be happy in the world.
Ms O'Reilly said the community was already stepping up to support the couple.
