Business NSW's Anthony McFarlene said with about 225,000 people across the Albury, Wagga, Murray and Cootamundra electorate entitled to four $25 vouchers, the economy stands to receive a significant stimulus.

Trials of the Dine and Discover voucher began last week in The Rocks and Broken Hill, with the statewide program slated to be rolled out in March.

Under the scheme all NSW residents over 18 will be able to apply online to receive four $25 vouchers from the government.

Two of the vouchers can be from Monday to Thursday for eating in restaurants, cafes, bars, wineries, pubs and clubs.

While the other two vouchers can be used on entertainment and recreation, including live music and arts venues, any day of the week.

The vouchers can be spent anywhere in the state but Mr McFarlane encouraged residents to think "local".

"We want to support local and get the community back in numbers to their favourite cafes, restaurants, cinemas and recreation venues," he said.

Business NSW is encouraging eligible shops to register to accept the Dine and Discover vouchers now so they can take advantage of the scheme from the moment it rolls out.

"Businesses should register as soon as possible for Dine & Discover so that they are ready for customers to redeem their vouchers when the program starts in this region next month," Mr McFarlane said.
