"100 per cent, considering we're a bunch of little country towns," delighted captain Tom Simmons said.
"We're not out there paying people money, they're out there because they love it and everyone gets along."
CAW Hume is only in its third year following the amalgamation of Holbrook and District and Brocklesby District associations following their respective 2017-18 competitions.
It's the first time Hume has held the 96-year-old Cup, which was a prestigious competition at its peak.
Unfortunately, the O'Farrell Cup no longer has that standing with Wagga missing a host of stars, including Riverina opener Brayden Ambler, but it cannot take away from Hume's wonderful achievement.
Simmons won the toss at Wagga's Robertson Oval with youngster Corey McCarthy continuing his red-hot form with an unbeaten 65.
The Holbrook batsman peeled off 85, including eight boundaries and two sixes, against Culcairn on Saturday.
"He's leading the wickets, he's leading the runs, he's had a brilliant year and once he gets going, he's pretty hard to stop the young fella," Simmons praised.
McCarthy struck another six boundaries in his representative knock with support from fellow middle order players Simmons (23) and Darcy I'Anson (21) as the visitors posted 6-178 from their 50 overs.
McCarthy's older brother Kieren hit the only six in racing to an unbeaten 16 as Hume piled on around 100 runs in the final 16 overs.
"To be honest it could be the top, middle or lower order (that made the runs), we've got 12 batsmen and 12 bowlers," Simmons explained.
"It's not always going to be the same blokes in our team, that's the beauty of it."
I'Anson ripped through Wagga's top order, claiming the first three wickets as one of Riverina's most promising teenagers in Jake Scott anchored the innings with a classy 56.
But he couldn't find the support as Wagga was dismissed for 141 in certainly one of the lowest days for the one-time powerhouse association in the modern era.
I'Anson swung the ball to finish with 3-21 from 10 overs, leg-spinner Shannon Terlich also chipped in with 3-38, while Ed Perryman and Mark Kreutzberger nabbed two scalps apiece.
The upset sets up yet another David v Goliath clash when Hume faces Cricket Albury-Wodonga's top competition - provincial - on Sunday, February 28.
