The young and young at heart are being urged to harness their imaginations for a very special treasure hunt as part of the Border's 2021 Upstream Festival.
A series of magical, tiny projections will be installed around Wodonga's CBD with clues leading to their locations, best discovered after dark.
Albury filmmaker Helen Newman was commissioned by Wodonga Council to create the playful project for the March 6-9 festival.
With a young child as the central character, Whimsy takes you on a journey into forests with giant mushrooms, fireflies and enchanted creatures, a vast ocean filled with fanciful fish and other magical worlds.
Designed for the family, the project aims to appeal to the child in all of us; the only limit your imagination.
It is part of Upstream Tracks, Trails and Treasure Hunt, which also includes Ian Sutherland's Rewilding the City offering where paste-up photographic images of local wildlife will be installed on outdoor public walls and fittings in Wodonga.
- Whimsy will run February 26 to March 9 - visit upstream.org.au for more details.
