The Ciaron Maher and David Eustace-trained stayer has been allocated 63kg for the $100,000 feature.
Southern France boasts a rating of 103 after the Irish import won the group 2 $301,000 Sandown Classic, (2400m) in November 2019.
The six-year-old has been off the scene since finishing at the tail of the field in the group 1 Tancred Stakes taken out by Verry Elleegant last March.
The training partnership of Anthony and Sam Freedman could have a three pronged attack on the cup.
They nominated Steel Prince (62.5kg), Le Don De Vie (62kg) and Warning (61.5kg).
A total of 367 nominations were received for the eight-race card, including 31 for Wangaratta's premier race.
The final fields for Sunday's meeting will be finalised at 9am tomorrow.
The crowd will be capped to 1000 patrons.
