Leading Senior Constable Anthony James, of Wodonga Police, said the incident occurred about 6.55pm when the man, aged in his late 60s, was driving west in a blue Ford on Pearce Street.
"His car's severely damaged, had to be towed from the scene, no one was injured thankfully," the officer said.
The truck driver had stopped to tighten his load and was standing on the nature strip at the time of impact.
"The offending driver returned a breath alcohol reading of 0.132 and had his licence suspended pending appearance at Wodonga Magistrates Court via summons at a date to be fixed," Leading Senior Constable James said.
