Part of Upstream - Festival of Art and Culture, Recover Arts and Fashion Show will run in Wodonga on March 7.
GO Local Media managing director Bernadette Torresan said the arts and creative industries were hardest hit during the past year.
"With bushfires that brought us to our knees, COVID-19 and industry lockdowns, we literally couldn't breathe and be ourselves," she said.
"This exhibition invites audiences to get intimate and experience the celebration of recovery in Australia through wearable art forms with a strong narrative of survival."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Fashion designer Maxcelle Hall said the event was welcome after a difficult year for the sector.
"When things have been hard, sad or difficult I sort of sew my way out of it," she said.
"There is no doubt the last year has been all three; this show gives me something positive to focus on and it will hopefully bring joy to those who come to the show and to the beautiful models in it."
An art exhibition complements a two-hour fashion show at The Cube Wodonga from 3pm.
