Families and Communities Minister Gareth Ward said caseworkers helped to develop the ChildStory Mobile app being rolled out across the state.
"This Australian-first app will provide caseworkers with real-time access to vital information, allowing faster responses and better outcomes for vulnerable kids," Mr Ward said in a statement on Wednesday.
"ChildStory Mobile will save time, reduce paperwork and improve services and support provided to vulnerable children and families across NSW."
ChildStory Mobile is a modified version of ChildStory, the desktop system used by the Department of Communities and Justice for child protection and out-of-home care.
The new app allows caseworkers to:
* Complete home visit records and upload files;
* Access client information;
* Complete safety assessments;
* Use the innovative talk-to-text function; and
* Create digital safety plans that can be signed and shared with families instantly.
