Rippon, who is the current NSW under-19 women's water polo coach, mentored locals at the Lavington Swim Centre as part of the Girls Making Waves initiative.
The program, which is run in conjunction with the Her Sport Her Way strategy, was established to see girls aged between seven and 12 offered an introduction to the sport.
Water Polo NSW vice president and program creator Suzanne Ramke said it was about building skills in a fun and modified environment.
