Mackinlay, who has spent the past 14 years working for the organisation, will finish up at Easter to focus on broadcasting and media interests.
He was originally in charge of the Riverina region after taking over from Marty Garoni.
"It's been a dream job," Mackinlay said.
"I remember when Warren Smith was doing the same job and one day he drove into the Holbrook ground for a junior clinic.
"I thought to myself: 'Gee, I'd love that job' and I was lucky enough to do it.
"Coming from a volunteer background helps and Cricket NSW has been fantastic."
Mackinlay previously spent 20 years in the building industry.
He will continue to work for Radio 2AY as a broadcaster and is excited by the growth of his new podcasting venture, The Glory Days.
