But with a COVID twist of course.
The 25th annual Chiltern Pro Rodeo pushed through the red tape and organised one of the first community events in the North East since the pandemic began.
And as the sun set on the Chiltern Recreation Reserve, the committee celebrated being able to pull together the event for the community.
President Michael Phibbs said the committee was thrilled to see a crowd, albeit socially distanced, enjoying the rodeo once again.
"It was a great night," he told The Border Mail.
"We had a great, well-behaved crowd and it was just really nice to see everyone coming together again.
"After everything last year we didn't think we could get the rodeo up this year, but we got there and it was a great community event."
Mr Phibbs said, while they were still pulling together a list of the winners, there were some talented riders involved.
"The standard was really high and was a great night to watch as well," he said.
The 2020 rodeo was one of the last events of its size held in the North East before the pandemic cancelled numerous events last year.
It was only fitting then to see the rodeo as one of the first events back again 12 months later.

Former president Kelvin Duke, who died in 2019, was remembered in the Kelvin Duke Memorial Bareback Bronc event.
And while 2021 marked the 25th year of the pro rodeo, Mr Phibbs said because of COVID restrictions the committee decided to push the celebrations to next year.
"We will make the 26th year a big one instead," he said.
"Just with the crowd cap and everything else this year we just focused on holding the event.
"So next year we will do something big and celebrate."
Mr Phibbs wanted to thank the committee in helping organise the COVID-safe event.
"I also want to acknowledge our Indigo Shire mayor Jenny O'Connor and our local Member for Benambra Bill Tilley," he said.
"They have been massive supporters of the rodeo and really helped get it off the ground this year."
The committee is already planning next year's rodeo for March.
