From a march in the regional city of Bendigo in northern Victoria to the steps of Parliament House in Canberra, huge crowds could be heard chanting "enough is enough" and "no more".
Former Liberal staffer Brittany Higgins made a powerful speech at the Canberra March 4 Justice rally, saying she spoke out about being allegedly raped in Defence Minister Linda Reynolds' ministerial office "because I felt it was the only thing that I could do to say that I didn't co-sign this behaviour".
March organiser Janine Hendry refused an invitation from Prime Minister Scott Morrison for a rally delegation to meet him in his office, after he declined to leave Parliament House to meet the marchers outside.
In COVID-19 news today, genomic testing has revealed the Sydney security guard who tested positive has the highly contagious UK strain of the virus.
The 47-year-old guard, who was diagnosed on Sunday, worked at the Sydney Sofitel on March 6 where the infected traveller had stayed on the 11th floor.
Genomic testing has also given clarity on the virus cluster in Brisbane, with cases in two guests staying in separate rooms of the Hotel Grand Chancellor and a doctor who later treated one of them in the Princess Alexandra Hospital, all being linked.
Things are looking a little more positive down south after Victoria reached its 17th day without a community transmission of coronavirus.
