Beer is hoping to emulate the Ron Stubbs-trained stayer and make it a second hometown cup victory.

"The horse is going 10 times better than it was this time last year," Beer said.
"Hopefully he can improve on last year's effort because their is a lot of local owners in the horse.
"He has been placed in the city at his past three runs and is racing in career best form.
"With a bit of luck in running he should be hopefully fighting out the finish."
