
Four days before show day for the 2020 Holbrook Show, the rug was pulled out from under organisers as the nation went into lockdown and the show was cancelled.
Holbrook Show Society secretary and treasurer Rita Bowler said preparing for the 2021 event was unlike any other.
COVID-safe requirements and the division of activities meant the number of volunteers needed to increase significantly.
"We were keen to have the show after we lost last years to keep the community spirit going," Ms Bowler said.
"There's an awful lot of sanitiser out there.

"And there's a lot of extra paperwork to do with running two grounds and COVID."
Ms Bowler admitted it was a relief to see the event up and running again, despite some obstacles with the weather.
"This year we were really just keen to have a show, knowing that it wasn't going to be the usual show," she said.
