MOIRA and Federation councils are becoming increasingly worried about the delay in confirming the Yarrawonga-Mulwala replacement bridge alignment..
Mayors Libro Mustica and Pat Bourke want to see the present impasse end after recent plebiscites and community polls conducted in both towns showing support for the green route.
"Council has created a Yarrawonga foreshore master plan which has been designed to complement our community's decision for the green route, and this master plan has been sent to both state governments to show we are ready to go with a fantastic development as soon as the new traffic bridge has been built," Cr Mustica said.
Cr Bourke said said businesses either side of Lake Mulwala had put expansion or start up plans on hold pending the final call on the bridge alignment.
"Council has committed to and commenced extensive foreshore improvement works including a wonderful all abilities playground and walking, cycling tracks," he said.
"But like our businesses, it is difficult to progress improvement works with any confidence because the bridge route decision is still pending after all these months, years even, despite the residents of Yarrawonga and Mulwala voting in record numbers for the green route."
