About 60 tradies joined the first Tradie Breakfast for Charity hosted by Wodonga Lunch Box.

A total of 47 tradies dined in on egg and bacon rolls, hash browns, juice, flavoured milk and coffee over two separate sittings at 5.30am and 6.30am.

The rest took up the takeaway option.

Wodonga Lunch Box co-owner Katy Maras said she was thrilled with the response to their first monthly event.

She said the profits would go to Wodonga Men's Shed to support their valuable work in the community.

"We wanted to do something for a local not-for-profit and the men's shed does amazing things through their work," she said.

"The breakfasts are also a chance for tradies to get together for a chat."

Ms Maras said they did one major fundraiser every year to give back to the community that supported them.

She said they raised $3600 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation last year.

"We were lucky that we didn't have to shut down through COVID last year at all," Ms Maras said.

"Each year we like to raise money for a good cause, and this year it's the blokes' turn."

Ms Maras said they would host the fundraiser on the last Friday of each month.

She said while it was all gents yesterday, women were very welcome.

"We generally get some lady tradies coming to the shop, just not this time," she said.

Event supporters included Kiewa Milk, Howlong Bakery, Garoni's Crane Trucks, EBA Hire, Coca-Cola, PFD Albury, Hogsta Plumbling, Cogent Solutions, Border Markets, Bertocchi Smallgoods and Plan Scan Albury.
