
EAST Albury won its first open age premiership since 2009-10 by defeating Corowa in the provincial second grade grand final at Lavington on Saturday.
In a rain-marred match, the Crows were ahead on the Duckworth Lewis system at 2-158 off 37 overs chasing 9-184 when the umpires abandoned play.
Experienced duo Cade Anderson and Steve Hogan put on 91 for the opening stand to set up the win.
Anderson was 65 not out, Hogan continued his strong late form by making 42, Michael Westland chipped in with 13 and skipper Sean Barrett remained 23 not out.
Earlier, Ryan Beveridge made 80 against some good bowling from Rory Parnell, Clem Beazley and Nick Christos who grabbed two wickets each.
St Patrick's White defeated Corowa by 35 runs in C grade division one at Xavier Oval thanks to George Favero's 72 and Albury Blue defeated Howlong in C grade division two.
