Towong Shire, which owns the park, has ticked off a $890,000 redevelopment which will see a new amenities building and camp kitchen constructed.
The project has been bankrolled by an initial federal funding grant in 2019 followed by a state government contribution delivered as past of the region's bushfire recovery effort.
The park's 2019-20 summer trade was decimated by the Upper Murray bushfires.
The tendering process for the works has highlighted the low availability of builders due to the twin pressures of government COVID-19 stimulus funding fuelling a boom in residential construction and the bushfire rebuild in places like the Upper Murray.
The upgrade attracted one submission from Mount Beauty-based Barton Street Developments which has completed major projects in the Upper Murray for Towong Shire.
They include the Upper Murray Events Centre at the Corryong Recreation Reserve which was under construction when the bushfires hit the region.
"All efforts were made to secure multiple tender submissions for comparison during the procurement process," the council's infrastructure and environment director Rachael Gadd said.
"The tender submission has been assessed independently through (consultants) AKPS, who have confirmed that the amount tendered is competitive with current market rates."
Meanwhile, Towong Shire mayor David Wortmann is among 15 mayors from across the state appointed to a local government mayoral advisory panel.
It will meet with Local Government Minister Shaun Leane four times during the year with the first meeting scheduled for April 21.
Last year's panel discussed bushfire recovery and the pandemic response.
