He will draw from his vast back catalogue of recordings for the intimate concert of songs on Saturday, May 22.
Melbourne-based Lior burst on the Australian music scene in 2005 with his debut album, Autumn Flow.
Known for his dynamic and moving performances, Lior has achieved critical acclaim while maintaining independence in his craft.
Lior will be accompanied by folk singer Domini Forster and a string quartet of Border musicians comprising Kaori Sparks (violin), David Pietsch (violin), Damien Jones (viola) and Caleb Murray (cello).
It will be the first event for the newly-launched Murray River Fine Music.
Artistic director and chief executive officer Helena Kernaghan said Murray River Fine Music aimed to make the live performance of top-level classical music available to regional country communities.
The group plans to feature at least one world premiere by an Australian composer each year.
"Our goal is to provide a quality experience for regional audiences that would normally only be the privilege of city dwellers," Ms Kernaghan said.
"We engage the best performers and allow them the freedom to present programs they are comfortable with, and can deliver with passion and enthusiasm."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Kernaghan said Murray River Fine Music was committed to fostering student opportunities and new work commissions to help develop a vibrant classical music scene in regional Australia.
She said Border musicians would have access to masterclasses and workshops with the featured performers.
The Murray River Fine Music executive includes renowned Australian composer Gordon Kerry as consultant, producer Kerryn Beatty, operations manager Claire Higgins and treasurer Peter Stewart.
"Our launch concert with Lior was planned for two dates in 2020 but both had to be cancelled due to COVID restrictions," Ms Kernaghan said.
"Now we are finally getting the show on the road and are excited to bring this inaugural concert to Border audiences in the beautiful setting of The Scots School chapel.
