Police spent about an hour at the scene on Wednesday.
The driver of the Mazda 2 received minor injuries in the crash after hitting a concrete barrier and rolling the car.
His male passenger was also taken to hospital.
The Canberra pair appeared to have been undertaking a lengthy drive at the time of the crash.
"On long trips, people need to take a bit of care," Sergeant Cameron Roberts said.
"That's in terms fatigue, restraints, speed and alcohol."
EARLIER: Emergency services are on scene after a car rolled on the Hume Freeway, west of the Melrose Drive bridge.
Police, firefighters and State Emergency Service personnel are on scene with two ambulance crews and two MICA crews attending.
A Mazda 2 rolled around 11.30am, it sustained heavy damage and remains on its roof.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The northbound lanes of the Hume Freeway remain open but traffic is slow, with tow trucks and firetrucks on scene.
At least one person was assessed by paramedics.
