After more than 250 A-grade games, the Bulldogs stalwart was recognised as a life member of the league on the weekend.

Murphy was presented the honour courtside during Wodonga's round two clash at home against Yarrawonga.

It also marked the goal-attack's return to A-grade after landing back home at the Bulldogs this season, following a stint in the Tallangatta and District League.

"It's been a long journey," Murphy said.

"I didn't know about it, so it really took me by surprise.

"Some of my former teammates came down to watch, so it was nice to have them there.

"They've been a big part of the journey."

Despite playing in multiple grand finals for Wodonga, Murphy was unable to take to the court in her only premiership with the club.

"I was a part of that grand final team but I sat on the bench with a ruptured Achilles from a few weeks beforehand," she said.

"It was always a buzz playing finals and during that prime time at Bulldogs we played in a lot.

"The vibe around that time of the year is always great."

Murphy did however get to experience the feeling of winning a flag on three occasions during her seven years of playing in the Bendigo League.

She admitted she's come a long way since first stepping on the court as a teenager in B-grade.

"It was hard because we had so many good players around the club at that time," she said.

"I had a lot of senior players around me who were really supportive, with the likes of Kelli Moylan, Sally Anthony and Lindy Burgess-Singleton."

Murphy now joins some of the league's greats in the list of life members.

She's the third Wodonga netballer to receive the honour behind Rebecca Cameron and Liona Edwards.

"She's been a stalwart of the Bulldogs and the league is very deserving of the honour," Ovens and Murray deputy chair Kim Odewahn said.

Others to have reached the major milestone include Pigeon's great Tracy Gillies and North Albury duo Paula Cary and Fiona Boyer.

Wodonga is coming off the back of a loss to the Pigeons during Saturday's twilight clash and will take on Albury Tigers this weekend.

The club has placed an emphasize on nurturing it's junior talent this season, as they look to improve on recent years.

"This year is all about development," she said

"It's really exciting to be a part of that rebuild at Wodonga."
