The youngest member of iconic Australian vocal group Human Nature said it wasn't the first time he had been through the process since the global pandemic changed life as we knew it.
"It's my second time round and it's actually gone a lot quicker this time," he said.
Human Nature had dominated the Las Vegas strip for a decade with their critically-acclaimed residency at The Venetian Resort before the COVID-19 crisis took hold last March.
They came home late last year when the American arts and entertainment industries remained stalled.
Now Human Nature is preparing to rehearse for their upcoming Australian tour, People Get Ready - the AAA Australian Regional Tour.
The extensive Acoustics, Audience and Anthems tour will offer original hits and Motown classics, all performed with vocals upfront in an acoustic mode.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Tierney said the band was looking forward to hitting the road, visiting some places in regional Australia for the first time.
"They will be intimate shows and a really nice way to tour," Tierney said.
"We're so used to doing shows with all of the bells and whistles, it will be really nice to do something more stripped back."
Having formed as a doo-wop group in high school, Michael and his brother Andrew, Toby Allen and Phil Burton signed with Sony Music as Human Nature before their debut album Telling Everybody in 1996 launched their touring career.
They opened for Michael Jackson on the HIStory World Tour later that year until mid-1997.
"It was literally our first tour and it took us all around the world to massive stadiums in Europe," Tierney said.
"It was non-stop, playing enormous venues, we performed in Germany where 110,000 people had come to that show. We got a lot of experience in performing and seeing how those tours worked; it was a baptism by fire!"
The foursome have sold more than 2.5 million albums.
In 2019 each member of Human Nature was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia, as well as being inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame.
They released a new single Nobody Just Like You last year from their upcoming Good Good Life EP.
