The 39th year of the bowls event is set for May 15 and 16.
Teams of three men or three women can enter for seven games of 12 ends.
Winners will receive $1000 each, with money paid down to 40th position.
"This year I was hoping to get around 300 bowlers," McDonnell said.
"More than 200 of them will be visitors who will stay two or three nights in motels.
ALSO IN SPORT:
"I'm hoping this will help the motels after what they've been through in the past year with the virus.
"After 39 years, millions of dollars have been spent in the Albury-Wodonga area.
"Next year will be our 40th anniversary and plans are already under way. During the presentation of prizes this year, I will make a special announcement."
Matches start at 9.30am both days.
The cost of $240 per team includes lunch both days.
Entries must be lodged with John McDonnell by May 8 on (02) 6021 7549.
