In his first game for the year and only fifth of his career, Bren was legally smashed by the powerful Aidan Johnson early in the second quarter.
It happened right in front of the Saints' clubrooms when the 19-year-old kicked the ball and because he was off-balance, the hit from Johnson lifted him around a metre and a half in the air, falling to ground on his back.
He, naturally, spent some time on the ground recovering and was forced off, before returning and playing a vital role in the comeback win, setting up a goal with a superb kick to Ryley Sharp just minutes after a mid-air hack for goal.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"I thought the ball was going over the back and I was talking to 'Dukes', Riley O'Shea, he knew it was coming over and he punched it backwards, so I thought it might happen and it came off," Bren explained.
