The national airline announced on Friday its seasonal service between Albury and Brisbane would be extended to operate all year round due to the "strong, growing demand for travel in regional Australia".
Cr Mack hopes the early success of the route inspires further investment.
"It's really exciting we've got this offering now and who knows what is next," he said.
"We need to look at Adelaide, we also need to look at Canberra. Canberra was here many years ago.
"We'll do what we can do to sell our community [and] to sell our region. It's not about running this airport, it's about running the region and providing opportunities for our businesses and our communities to benefit from that and that visitation."

Cr Mack said the year-round flights provided an opportunity to promote the Murray region to Brisbane residents.
"Once you have this sort of setting you can actually then invest in that market, whereas before we had no real reason to invest," he said.
"We need to promote what is here in our region and do that through marketing into Brisbane now and Qantas will assist us."
Cr Mack said traditionally the Southern Riverina and North East had not promoted itself much to the Queensland market.
"The Brisbane market is generally not exposed to southern markets as much, they generally fly to Sydney, Melbourne, the regional markets miss out," he said.
"The Brisbane passenger numbers are strong but once we get though a winter and see what happens out the other side, I'm sure Qantas and ourselves will understand what level or marketing we'll have to continue to do."
Cr Mack said the competition between Qantas and Regional Express on the Sydney and Melbourne routes was benefiting consumers by driving prices down.
QantasLink CEO John Gissing said the initial response from customers along the route had exceeded expectations.
"The new flights from Brisbane have proven to be popular with skiers and snowboarders planning their winter holiday, offering Queenslanders the only direct flight to the snowfields this season," he said
"We've also seen the local community has really supported the new route, with strong demand from business and leisure travellers in Albury booking to Brisbane and beyond."
From July 1, flights between Albury and Brisbane will operate three days a week, with a total of 440 seats on the route each week.
