Participants in the third annual Sunshine Walk on November 7 can either join the community event at Albury's Noreuil Park or complete a route of their choice whenever suits them.
"And that actually worked out really well for some people," trust fund board member Colleen Gorman said.
"Because the cancer centre does cover such a wide area it's lovely that people ... can do their own walk in their own time."
Last year smaller groups went walking throughout Albury-Wodonga as well as Bright, Culcairn, Corowa, Gold Coast, Cairns and even the US.
The Sunshine Walk invites people to walk five, 10 or 20 kilometres and has raised more than $430,000 since starting in 2019.
IN OTHER NEWS:
Wodonga couple Bill and Marie Orr say they feel privileged to be Sunshine Walk ambassadors.
"I got involved because I got cancer and have been treated by the hospital," Mr Orr said.
Mrs Orr, who raised $7346 to be the highest individual fundraiser last year, said the walk was "such good fun".
"You meet all different people and you get a bit of a challenge going on between a few teams to see who can get the most money," she said. "I was amazed at the amount of family support and the money that I raised.
"If I can do it, anyone can do it, I challenge people to get their families together.
"(The money) stays in our community, so we all benefit from it."
Ambassador Bobbi Garland, of Lavington, signed up for the 2019 walk just as she finished treatment for early stage breast cancer, with her team collecting nearly $12,000 to far exceed their target.
"Mentally and physically it was very rewarding," she said.
"It's actually a really good day."
Mrs Garland said being able to access treatment and other services at the centre, close to home, made everything easier.
"Last year was tough mentally, I guess everyone goes through their own journey at different stages," she said.
"I feel like I've come a really long way and that has a lot to do with community, all the support that's behind everything."
