The Swans closed out the game by six goals at Thurgoona after leading by three at the end of the third term.
Defender Tammy Phibbs rose to the challenge to take intercepts at crucial stages of the last quarter.
Former Ovens and Murray players Zoe Rae and Georgia Thomas shot a combined total of 37 goals for the Swans, while Thomas' younger sister Hannah also shot 12.
Chiltern coach Lee Brookes admitted it was a hard fought game for the side, who has now won three of their five games this season.
"It was a well contested game and that last quarter just opened up a bit for us," she said.
"It showed that we're mentally match ready and we can handle getting through four quarters of really hard contested netball."

Midcourt player Eliza Abbott and defender Giaan Collings were the best for the Bulldogs, with Mardi Nicholson shooting 27 goals.
In other Tallangatta and District Netball Association games, Mitta United had a big win against Barnawartha at Eskdale.
Jess Barton shot 56 of the side's 71 goals, while the Tigers finished the day with 36.
Yackandandah has shot 69 goals for the third time this season after defeating Wahgunyah at Wahgunyah.
Reigning premiers Kiewa-Sandy Creek also had a strong performance in Tangambalanga, defeating Wodonga Saints 64-25.
Tallangatta were too good for Rutherglen, while Beechworth also had a win.
