Lior, who is one of the nation's most successful singer-songwriters, will perform an intimate concert of songs drawn from his vast catalogue of recordings.

He will be accompanied by folk singer Domini Foster and a string quartet of Border musicians for the one-off performance.

Lior had a busy year pre-COVID performing with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and Austin Symphony Orchestra in the U.S.

In 2019, Lior was awarded the Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship for outstanding talent.

Accompanying Lior will be the Border Quartet comprising Koari Sparks (violin), David Pietsch (violin), Damien Jones (viola) and Caleb Murray (cello).

Sparks, of Albury, has had a glittering international career with performances throughout Europe as a member of the Tokyo-Budapest String Quartet and Tokyo-Budapest Ensemble.

She performed at Zell am See Music Festival in Austria, Salzburg Open Air Mozart Festival, Budapest Spring Festival and with the Salzburg Festival Orchestra.

Classically trained violinist, pianist and teacher, David Pietsch established Violindigo in Yackandandah.

He is teaching and performing in the region while studying a Masters of Primary Teaching at Latrobe University.

Violinist Damien Jones has performed everything from classical to jazz, pop and avante garde.

He is the Murray Conservatorium Orchestra conductor, and maintains a busy teaching studio with performing with the Moodemere Quartet.

Border cellist Caleb Murray has played with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, appeared as a principal of the Australian Youth Orchestra and is a casual cellist with the Auckland Philharmonia.

Murray River Fine Music artistic director Helena Kernaghan said the group aimed to make the live performance of top-level classical music available to regional communities.

"Our goal is to provide a quality experience for regional audiences," she said.

The concert will be held on Saturday, May 22, from 6.30pm at the Alastair Todd Chapel Hall, The Scots School, Albury.
