A drunken man who threw a cat against a fence during a heated dispute says he can't remember the incident.
Samuel Brian Grigg was drinking in the lead up to the incident on September 7 last year.
The Wodonga Magistrates Court on Tuesday heard the plasterer had called his partner on the day, who told him not to come home.
He went to the home at 8.50pm and said he was "gonna burn the house down".

The cat screamed after being picked up by the neck and flung.
"This isn't going to end well," Grigg said to his partner.
"Do you like fire?"
He told the court alcohol was definitely a factor.
"To be be honest, I don't really recall any of what happened that night," he said.
Grigg quit drinking two days after the attack.
He was placed on a good behaviour bond.
