Mr Hughes' new module 'Mid Valley Distillery' will be on display for the first time at the weekend.
His eight-metre-long layout 'Barambogie' has locomotives fitted with sound and detailed scenery.
Show organiser Grant Myers encouraged residents to view the wide variety of techniques in model-making.
He said the committee had received more enquiries for the show than ever before.
