Six teams of five riders saddled up at Adrenaline Boxing and Conditioning for a marathon 24-hour ride with $35,000 being raised for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre.
Organiser Steve Ballard said the amount shattered all expectations.
"We lifted our target four times, our first target was $20,000," Mr Ballard said.
The individual bike, where people could come in and ride for an hour for their sponsor, almost reached the initial goal with $19,500 being raised.
"The response we got from local businesses was outstanding and it's good to see them giving back to the community," Mr Ballard said.
"It was fantastic."
Jenny Seymour and her team, Go Round, rode to Melbourne and back over the 24 hours.
"We take the bragging rights because we rode nearly 700 kilometres," she said.
"The team I chose was a very elite engine of cyclists, because it's well know that I'm not."
IN OTHER NEWS:
Ms Seymour said the thing that really stood out for her during the ride was the support everyone involved showed each other.
"It was incredible seeing everyone in the community rallying around people when they were low on energy, everybody had their lull at some point in the 24 hours," she said.
"People were just really supporting each other and that's really evident in the Adrenaline community, it is very supportive."
Mr Ballard said the plan is to come back bigger and better next year.
"We're just trying to work out the kinks this year and hopefully next year we'll be able to get all the other gyms and sporting bodies on board so that we can start making it that nice little competition to see who can raise the most money for a great cause," he said.
