Acting Premier James Merlino has indicated the state government will announce what further restrictions can ease in regional Victoria on Thursday, but line with the current rules, facilities such as museums and the Beechworth Historic Precinct remain closed.
Mayor Jenny O'Connor said the impact from the curtailed Queen's Birthday long weekend would be significant and urged locals to support operators.
"I know many operators were anticipating big numbers, and this is yet another massive blow," she said.
"I'm pleased that the state government has announced additional financial support under its circuit breaker business support package for impacted businesses.
"However, I am extremely disappointed that regional Victorians will not be eligible for the federal government's jobs payment."
Wodonga's Bonegilla Migrant Experience remains closed and so is The Cube.
