Ivana Milanovic is facing 25 charges of obtain a financial advantage by deception.
The claims leveled by police against Milanovic are that she committed the deceptions between January of 2016 and August, 2019.
IN OTHER NEWS:
"Dr Milanovic wants to enter a plea of not guilty to all charges," defence lawyer Marie Marianne has told Albury Local Court magistrate Richard Funston.
The court heard the brief of evidence had been served on Milanovic by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
The allegations are that Milanovic made false claims involving 25 patients.
Ms Marianne, appearing via a telephone link, told Mr Funston that all 28 witnesses would be required for a hearing, which she expected to last for 10 days.
But Mr Funston was left aghast by her submission, describing as "ridiculous" her bid for a 10-day hearing in what was an extremely busy Local Court.
"I find it extraordinary you can't narrow the issues," he said.
"I'm not going to give you a 10-day hearing date, I can tell you now.
"I'm going to adjourn it for a week and give the parties time to talk about it."
The charges against Milanovic, who did not appear in court, were adjourned to Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a Myrtleford woman has admitted she used an old Wodonga address in order to get a permit to cross the NSW border.
Clark, now 35, has pleaded guilty to charges of knowingly make a false or misleading statement and to not complying with a noticed direction related to COVID-19.
Police told the court that Clark and her partner, Michael Edgar, both applied for and were granted a border permit by Services NSW on August 5, 2020, between 7.30pm and 8pm, using her Skitch Court address.
She had not lived there for eight months, rather the pair lived in Ross Court, Myrtleford.
They used their permits to travel to an address in Lavington before returning home to Myrtleford.
She will be sentenced on Thursday.
