Having made what was due to be a one-off appearance for the Saints last weekend, the 28-year-old spent this week in talks with officials from both clubs over his playing future.

Sedgwick, 28, made it clear he had no problem with the Panthers and was making the switch for personal reasons.

"Sedgy found his love of footy again at the weekend," Brock-Burrum coach Kade Stevens explained.

"When he was cleared last week, there was absolutely no intention of it being any more than a week.

"Sedgy's got a lot of respect for Lavington and the players he's been surrounded by there.

"But he's had a very frustrating year with injury and family losses and he just hasn't enjoyed his footy or seen himself being able to enjoy it.

"These points have all been discussed with the Lavington coaching staff.

"The decision came solely down to Sedgy and Brock-Burrum were very supportive of him, whichever decision he made."

The classy midfielder won three Hume league premierships with the Saints between 2015 and 2019, before stepping back up to the Ovens and Murray this year.

Sedgwick, a former O and M Rising Star winner, spoke to several other clubs before choosing Lavington, where he played 21 senior matches as a youngster.

But he made just four appearances for the reigning premiers and will be a major boost to Brock-Burrum's chances of playing finals for an 11^th year running.

The on-baller kicked a career-high six goals to help the Saints beat Lockhart by 83 points last weekend.

"His contribution and value to the side is priceless," Stevens said.

"He's certainly going to add some spark to our side."

Brock-Burrum, seventh in the Hume league, takes on fourth-placed CDHBU at Coreen this afternoon in one of the games of the day.

Meanwhile, as part of the Ovens and Murray's much-anticipated double-header, Lavington hosts Wodonga at 12pm before Wangaratta and Yarrawonga take to the Lavington Sportsground at 2.45pm.
