A man has been arrested following a serious family violence incident involving a weapon in Wodonga.

Police were alerted to an incident at a home just after midnight on Thursday morning.
A 49-year-old man allegedly broke into a home and assaulted his wife in front of their daughter.
The victim was hospitalised with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
He was arrested at a home and taken to the Wodonga Police Station in the early hours of Thursday.
IN OTHER NEWS:
He was charged with aggravated burglary, intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, assault with a weapon, criminal damage and intentionally causing injury.
The accused man appeared before the Wodonga Magistrates Court on Friday.
He did not make an application for bail.
The 49-year-old was remanded in custody to September 9.
