In what amounts to the world's longest road trip, the Thunder faces Wagga Kangaroos in a game with an enormous bearing on the top five.

"This game's pretty big, we need to win it, otherwise we're relying on teams to be losing for us to make the finals," five-eighth Mason Fuller explained.

The top four - Tumut, Southcity, Young and Gundagai - looks set to play finals, so the final spot appears a battle between the Roos and rapidly improving Border outfit.

The Thunder started with three losses, but have worked their way back into sixth spot and only trail the Roos by the Wagga club's bye.

All teams receive two points for the bye.

"We've been playing really well as a side, some of the results haven't gone our way, but we're playing really well together," Fuller revealed.

Fuller is a big playmaker at 187cms and 95kgs.

That would be relatively big in the NRL, let alone the bush.

"I don't mind the physicality, it's good, but it (playmaking) is a tough role and there's lots to learn," he added.
