With the match played in atrocious conditions goals were always going to be at a premium.

After an even first-quarter the Mountain Men were able to keep the opposition goalless for the remainder of the match on their way to a slogging 11.8 (74) to 3.2 (20) win.

Harrison only joined the Mountain Men as coach this season after playing the majority of his football in Melbourne for suburban clubs including South Morang, Whittlesea, Bundoora and West Preston-Lakeside.

Harrison said he will remember his milestone match mostly for how bad the conditions were.

"It was probably one of the ugliest games I've played in because our ground is badly chopped up after the last week or so," Harrison said.

"It was a good old fashioned game of footy and a real slogfest.

"The club did a fantastic job to mark the milestone and I was a bit overwhelmed by the trouble they went to.

"The club must have done their homework and spoke to my father who lives in Melbourne to find out a bit more about my footy career down there.

"They made a really touching speech after the match in front of all my family which I appreciated and it was a touching moment.

"But I was just happy to celebrate the milestone with a win and remain in finals contention."
