From Friday, Hovell Tree Drive near the wood-fired pizza ovens will be closed as Albury Council starts construction.
Preliminary bank protection works will start the project, which will ultimately deliver a riverside boardwalk, dock and other attractions near the Albury Swim Centre.
As the build ramps up, there will be a reduction in car parking in the Albury Swim Centre car park, the Wagirra Trail will be realigned from the Mudges Canal Bridge to the Bungambrawatha Creek Bridge and the road between Hume Street and the Noreuil Park entrance will be closed.
The precinct was among NSW Regional Growth Environment and Tourism Fund projects announced as successful in 2018, along with the Tocumwal Foreshore Activation and Economic Revitalisation project and the Corowa-Mulwala trail and Foreshore Project.
