Fourth-placed Norths were strong in defence right from the start with goalkeeper Sam Campbell and Sherren Rahaley halting Falcons.
The deadlock was broken when Falcons were awarded a penalty stroke, which was converted by Jess Madden with only two minutes remaining in the game.

In another midweek game for the round, CR United came out 4-0 winners against Wodonga.
Goals were converted by Abby Bainbridge, Bella Heagney, Lynn Macaulay and Erinne Lutz to keep United in third position in the race for a finals spot.
This weekend sees Norths and Wodonga and Magpies and United clash in men's and women's matches at Albury Hockey Centre, while Falcons and Wombats' men also meet at the venue.
