Police and firefighters were called to the intersection of Moore Street and Kaylock Road about 2.30pm on Thursday.
A stolen Holden Commodore sped into a traffic pole, hit a Ford Territory and slammed into the letterbox, spreading bricks through the area.
Nearby residents at the Kaylock Road home heard a loud bang as the car crashed.
The letterbox appeared to prevent the car from crashing into homes on Kaylock Road.
