Catholic College Wodonga had planned a Class of 2020 Reunion on Friday night as a chance for the group to celebrate and reflect on their final school year.
Originally to be held at Albury Entertainment Centre, the event had been moved to Wodonga Golf Club this week in the wake of the NSW COVID-19 restrictions.
But Victoria's snap five-day lockdown forced the night to be cancelled all together, with tickets to be refunded.
The college held a pupil-free day on Friday as staff members prepared for another stint of remote learning.

Throughout the North East, schools, students and parents adjusted to Victoria's fifth lockdown, which is due to end on Tuesday.
Albury High School, which had been affected by previous lockdowns owing to its high number of Victorian staff members, conducted classes as usual on Friday.
"We have been advised by the department's Health and Safety Directorate that the NSW Border Commissioner has confirmed that Victorian residents can continue to access NSW schools for learning and work if they reside in the border bubble," the school posted on its Facebook page.
