A four bedroom home in Maneroo Court, Wodonga still sold under the hammer for $447,000 by agents PJ Murphy despite a last-minute switch to an online selling platform resulting from the latest Victorian COVID-19 shutdown.

The property last sold a decade ago for $215,000 and achieved a result $27,000 above reserve.

"The lockdown didn't help, but in the end it didn't stop people going through the steps to register online and bid from home," auctioneer Leon Kowski said.

"People who have never done that before are still willing to do whatever it takes."

The property was sold to Wodonga-based buyers with Melbourne bidders also in contention.

Albury-based agents Stean Nicholls were able to conduct a traditional public auction for a two bedroom unit in Macauley Street with the property also selling under the hammer for $346,000, well in excess of the $300,000 reserve.

Another unit in the same complex sold recently for $273,000.

But the biggest prices paid were for two central Albury townhouses after auctions conducted by the same two agencies.

PJ Murphy sold the townhouse in the Smollett Street building, which started its life as the Commercial Hotel in the 1850s, for $835,000 after being passed in at $810,000.

Bidding opened at $780,000 with two major parties involved in the auction conducted by James Seymour.

The townhouse is located close to Dean Street and Albury railway station and forms part of a redevelopment of the site carried out by former Albury Tigers premiership coach and publican Tom Doolan seven years ago.

It has two bedrooms, one bathroom and high end colonial and modern architecture.

The property, which last sold in 2015 for $430,000 was bought by ashlartays.com.au and will be used as a "high end" airbnb.

There was also metropolitan investor interest before and during the auction conducted onsite in accordance with regional NSW COVID restrictions.

Meanwhile, the Kiewa Street townhouse was passed in at the auction conducted by Stean Nicholls for $750,000 and later sold for a price in the "mid $800,000s".

The townhouse located near the Kiewa Street-Poole Street roundabout has four bedrooms, two bathrooms and three separate living areas across two levels.

The four properties sold for a combined total of almost $2.5 million.
